About Alessandro…
I am an Associate Professor of Management Science & Engineering at the Department of Engineering for Innovation (DEfI) of the University of Salento (Italy), and a Research Partner at ENGIN - UFSC Federal University of Santa Catarina (Brazil).
I serve the Scientific Committee and Board of the Italian Association for Total Cost Management (AICE) and I was Innovation Manager at the Italian Ministry of Economic Development (MISE).
I am in the Editorial Board of Business Horizons and PlosOne, and in the Review Board of more than thirty international journals.
In the last twenty years, I have accumulated teaching, research and consulting experience at national and international level in both academic and industrial contexts. My areas of expertise include human resources management and HR analytics, collective intelligence systems, digital transformation, crisis and emergency management, and technology entrepreneurship.
I have published more than 120 research works, including articles in leading scientific journals, and I am also the authort of professional manuals on business engineering, process and project management.
Scientific coordinator of a MUR-funded (Italian Ministry) research project titled HUMANWISE on human resource analytics, and CITYBLE on two-sided citizen analytics and sustainable urban design. I am in the Management Board of the EU COST Action HUMAN-IT.
I also coordinate European consortia for the development and submission of prorposals to Horizon Europe calls for projects in the area of crisis response and citizen-driven emergency preparedness.
I was a visiting scholar at the Center for Digital Business and Initiative on the Digital Economy of MIT Sloan (USA), a Research Affiliate at the Center for Collective Intelligence of MIT Sloan, and a Visiting Researcher at PKU - Peking University (China).
